The details of "Death Race 2012" remain sketchy, yet it seems certain that former New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs was among those participating. As reported by the Newark Star-Ledger, Jacobs was one of scores of drivers who were allegedly escorted by police along the Garden State Parkway to Atlantic City in March of this year. The heart of the issue - speeds have been reported to have been in excess of 100 mph while the license plates of the cars had duct tape covering them.
A judge in Broward County, Fla., has instructed free-agent WR Plaxico Burress to disclose his personal finances as a result of a $125,000 judgment against him stemming from a May 2008 auto accident, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported Wednesday.
Plaxico Burress seems to have been on some sort of radio-show campaign this past week to get himself a contract with the Philadelphia Eagles.
The New York Jets are expected to lose Plaxico Burress after one productive season in green, but his spot could be filled by a familiar face: Braylon Edwards. Edwards had an injury-marred 2011 season with the 49ers, who landed him late in free agency on a one-year, incentive-laden...
Plaxico Burress is a free agent this year. In an interview with 97.5 The Fanatic, he stated that nothing else would make him happy than to play for the Philadelphia Eagles. Burress has a strong friendship with Philadelphia's quarterback, Michael Vick. Rumor has it that the New York Jets do not plan on re-signing him.
The New York Jets would like to have wide receiver Plaxico Burress back on their roster next season, according to the New York Post, but he says he would like to pull on the uniform of the Philadelphia Eagles next year. Burress gained himself some lifelong fans in the Big Apple when he scored the Super Bowl-winning touchdown for the New York Giants back in 2008 with the clock running down, but also then got himself a lot more attention when he shot himself in the leg in a nightclub and got sent off to the slammer. He told a Philadelphia radio station Tuesday that he'd love to join the Birds next season, the Post reports. "Nothing else would make me happier," Burress told the station, according to the paper. "Obviously, coming to Philadelphia and instituting myself to the offense it just adds a unique dynamic to what's already in place." The 34-year-old Burress, who was selected eighth overall in the 2000 draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers out of Michigan State, caught the ball 45 times last year for 612 yards and eight touchdowns. Last offseason, Plaxico Burress was celebrating his freedom from the shackles of the New York State Department of Corrections. This offseason, he's celebrating his freedom from the shackles of a Mark Sanchez-led offense. All indications are that Plax and the New York Jets will be parting ways, despite his relatively productive eight-touchdown season. Plax made $3 million last year, which may be on the high side for a guy who isn't an every-down receiver anymore, but if the Jets were expecting 1,200 yards and 15 TDs from a guy who had spent the previous two seasons working in the prison laundry, then that's their problem. Burress already has his sights set on his next employer -- he'd like it to be the Philadelphia Eagles . He pretty much threw himself at the Eagles during an interview with Philly's 97.5 The Fanatic on Wednesday. From NJ.com: "Nothing else would make me happier," Burress said in a radio interview today with Philadelphia's 97.5 The Fanatic. "Obviously coming to Philadelphia, instituting myself into that offense, it just adds a unique dynamic to what is already in place." It makes a fair amount of football sense. The Eagles have speed, separation and YAC guys at wide receiver. Burress brings none of that to the table, but he is a viable red zone and third-down threat. The Eagles do have a need there. Also, I believe Burress and Michael Vick could become the first pair of ex-cons to ever combine for a touchdown pass and reception. This isn't something that's lost on Burress, either.
Plaxico Burress has the Philadelphia Eagles on his radar, the free agent wide receiver told a Philadelphia radio station. After one year with the New York Jets, Burress said on 97.5 The Fanatic ESPN Radio Tuesday that he wants to play with his childhood friend, Michael Vick.

Within a span of a few days last August, Plaxico Burress predicted the Jets' offense could score 28 to 30 points a game, and coach Rex Ryan said he believed slot receiver Derrick Mason could finish the season with 80 to 90 receptions.

Well, much like Ryan's Super Bowl promises, those predictions didn't come close to coming true. Mason had only 13 catches in five games before being banished to Houston in a trade on Oct. 11. And the Jets scored more than 27 points only four times, and averaged 23.6 per game.

Despite the presence of big names such as Burress and wide receiver Santonio Holmes, the Jets offense underachieved, finishing 25th in the league in total yardage. Worse yet, although he threw a career-high 26 touchdown passes, third-year quarterback Mark Sanchez seemed to...
